Why Yes, It Is All About Me....

This is so perfect and so me!

Sorry that I have been missing for a while - much to do taking care of some personal and family issues and preparing for an upcoming eight day vacation in Michigan.  If you are from the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area, I'd love to know of things to do, good vintage/thrift shopping, general mischief and mayhem of the area!   Please share with me :)

Well isn't that a coinky-dink, Inky? I'm from the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area! :) Lots of great stuff to do around here - just let me know what you're interested in!

My favorite general thrift store is the Salvation Army (it's HUGE and always has great sales) and it's right near the airport - 5117 Portage Rd. if you want to Google it. There's a great place to shop vintage on our downtown mall (or was the last time I was down there) called Polly and Esthers at 526 S. Burdick. If they're not still there, there's still good shopping down thataway. There's also a great place called Bell's Brewery that has nationally famous microbrewed beer (I'm told the Oberon is the best summer pick). They also feature great local bands and a "Beer Garden." They're at 355 E. Kalamazoo Ave. If you go there, look for a tall, rose brick building nearby that says "Biggs|Gilmore" - that's the ad agency I work at. :) Hmm... what else... for coffee, you can go to Water Street, across the road from Bells, but they're a bit pricy and sometimes yuppie, but worth it nonetheless. For a more laid-back, mixed-bag crowd, check out Fourth Coast Cafe at 816 S. Westnedge. The Crows Nest, a restaurant upstairs, serves a yummers breakfast.

Anything else you want to know, just ask - like what do you guys like to do? Outdoor stuff? Museum stuff? Nightlife stuff? So weird to read that someone is taking a vacation here of all places. Hope you have a good time! :)

You should vacation in Phoenix instead. It's only 115 degrees right now. :-D

I live kinda far from K-Zoo but I would drive out there do do a blogger meet up if you are interested! There are some great vintage and antique shops by me, but I don't know much about the K-Zoo area. What airport are you flying into?
